Acrylic

Easily repaired should you sustain trauma, which is a great advantage.

Stains over a period of time, but this can be readily cleaned and polished.

Made of cured acrylic base; teeth can be dislodged; however, they are easily repaired.

Acrylic is generally cheaper and lighter, but won't last as long as zirconia.

Acrylic teeth have the longest track record. May wear and will chip, but they are easily repaired.

Wear faster than natural teeth, but will not wear opposing natural teeth.

Strong, rigid metal bonded to resilient hybrid composite.

Highly polishable, can be repaired in the mouth.

Less likely to chip compared to acrylic options.

Lightweight compared to Zirconia.

Kind to opposing teeth; wears at about the same rate as natural teeth.

(Monolithic Zirconia Screw Retained Full Arch Prosthesis)

This is the option with the greatest combination of strength and cosmetics.

Most patients feel this is the option that is the closest to the feel of their natural teeth.

It has been around for approximately 10 years.

As far as durability, zirconia will tend to be the most durable option and will be least likely to chip.

MEET DR. MELTZER

Dr. Meltzer graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and completed his training in Periodontics & Oral Medicine at the Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry. He pursued training in the Advanced Management of Disorders of the Temporomandibular Joint at Georgetown University School of Dental Medicine in Washington DC and his surgical and prosthetic implant training at the Branemark Clinic in Goteborg, Sweden.

Dr. Meltzer is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a Fellow of the Academy of Osseointegration, where he serves on its Research and Education Committees. Dr. Meltzer has also served as chairman of the Department of Graduate Periodontics at Temple University. He is past president of the Delaware Valley Academy of Osseointegration.

While Dr. Meltzer’s training and dual board certifications attest to his knowledge and training, his reputation is based upon his outstanding clinical skill and patient care. He has been featured in New Jersey Magazine as a Top Doc and Dentistry Today magazine as one of the Top 100 international leaders in dentistry.

We will take intraoral scans and CBCT images of your mouth to assess the bone levels in your jaw(s). We’ll use these high-resolution, 3D images to digitally plan your surgery. This structures a personalized treatment plan only for you.
